Business Intelligence (BI) Developer

Office-based, or hybrid, opportunity (min 3 days per week in the office in Wallington, Surrey)

About the Role

We’re looking for a proactive and technically skilled BI Developer to join our award-winning travel and leisure company. You’ll be part of a dynamic team that thrives on using data to improve business decision-making and operational effectiveness. This role is ideal for someone with 4-5 years of experience in Business Intelligence, who is confident working with SQL, Power BI, and Visual Studio (SSIS/SSAS/SSRS), and excited about solving problems with data.

As a BI Developer, you’ll build scalable data solutions, create insightful reports and dashboards, and support the ongoing development of our data warehouse and reporting landscape. Experience with Snowflake is a bonus.

What you'll be doing

• Designing, developing, and maintaining SSIS packages in Visual Studio to support ETL processes.

• Building and optimising interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI, ensuring performance and usability.

• Integrating customer and commercial data from multiple internal and external sources into meaningful business insights.

• Collaborating with digital marketing, commercial and finance teams to gather requirements and deliver actionable data solutions.

• Automating and maintaining recurring reports in Power BI and SSRS.

• Promoting a data-driven culture by advocating best practices in BI and self-serve analytics.

Who you are

• 4+ years of experience in a BI development role.

• Intermediate to advanced skills in SQL, with experience in querying and manipulating large datasets.

• Experience of working extensively with Customer Data in a customer-facing industry.

• Proficient with Microsoft SQL Server tools: SSIS, SSRS, SSAS.

• Experience with Snowflake or other cloud-based data platforms.

• Familiarity with scripting languages like Python for data manipulation.

• Experience with Power BI for report building, data modeling, and DAX.

• Strong understanding of Visual Studio and ETL processes.

• Ability to work across multiple teams and balance multiple priorities.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

• Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice to Have

• Understanding of data warehouse architecture and dimensional modeling.

• Experience working in the travel or leisure industry is a plus.
