Product Manager, Short Haul
Full time office-based or hybrid role (min 2 days per week based in our office in Wallington, Surrey).

The Role
Reporting to the Head of Product - Short Haul (British Isles & Europe) and working alongside a team of experienced Product Managers and Executives, this role is responsible for managing and developing a selection of Newmarket Holidays’ products / destinations; currently UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey), Republic of Ireland and European countries. The ideal candidate will be capable of taking full commercial ownership of their product portfolio.
Responsibility for the product will usually extend through its entire cycle, from development and rate negotiation, ensuring its operational effectiveness and commercial profitability as well as being in line with customer expectation and agreed satisfaction scores. In this role, the Product Manager will manage a Product Operations Executive.
Who we are looking for
• Highly motivated and professional individual, with extensive experience in and passion for the travel industry, ideally with previous product management experience
• Proven ability to develop and execute commercial strategies, negotiate effectively and drive profitability.
• Good understanding of the travel industry, particularly product management lifecycle, from market analysis and contracting to pricing and launch, and especially operationally.
• Prior experience working with river cruise and events product is an advantage, as well as a strong background in the travel industry.
• Experience of leading and motivating an executive or small team, fostering collaboration, and driving results, with an emphasis on empowerment, coaching, and performance. Proactive and a problem-solver who constantly questions processes in the desire to achieve efficiencies and use technology solutions to improve work practices.
• Able to work on several projects and tasks at once, sometimes under pressure and to tight deadlines, without sacrificing attention to detail and accuracy
• Highly self-motivated and self-aware, with a real desire to achieve
• Customer-focused and constantly looking to improve what we do with a dedication to quality and service
• Flexible approach to working and adaptable to changing priorities as demands dictate, taking on ancillary tasks and projects as and when required
• Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and develop solutions to problems.
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Able to work on own initiative with integrity and accountability, yet also a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in a fun, fast-paced and changing environment.
• Desire to grow and progress through identifying and addressing development needs.
• Technically competent and able to learn quickly.
• Fluency in a foreign language is an advantage.
• Willingness to support the wider team as and when necessary.
