The role

We are seeking enthusiastic sales focused individuals to join our award winning retail team. The role’s primary functions are to maintain existing partnerships and to foster new potential relationships to grow our brand exposure and market share in the highly competitive escorted touring sector. The team and the team dynamic are imperative to our individual and collective success so you’ll be self-starting as well as comfortable working as part of close-knit team, requiring flexibility in your approach.

We have numerous roles covering the North West of England, the South East and the Midlands, you will ensure our agency partners are fully trained and aware of the whole Newmarket Holidays portfolio. You will convey all sales messages, current offers and sales initiatives to national, miniple, individual agents and travel business owners within your regions. You will help maximise their commission potential, target strong margin attainment and ongoing sales queries. You will be the “go to” person for agents and travel business owners in your region for Newmarket Holidays.

This is a field-based role that includes weekend and evening work as part of the role. Roadshows in your region plus UK wide events, conferences and hosting of FAM trips are important elements of the role too.

Newmarket Holidays is a keen supporter of the escorted touring sector. We believe, whilst always in healthy competition for bookings, collectively our industry can work together to expand the reach of escorted touring in the wider travel market. We are looking for sales passionate individuals to help us continue this ethos and to be a part of our ambitious growth plans whilst having fun along the way.

Who You Are

• Passionate and sales-hungry, motivated by the attainment of stretching sales targets and able to demonstrate attainment of same

• Experience of working in a sales environment in the retail travel industry, or field sales in the travel industry.

• Focused on budgeted targets and raising the sales and profile via road shows, personal visits, marketing communications and new business acquisition

• Acute awareness of business’ commercial imperatives and strategic goals and clarity in implementing agreed initiatives to meet those goals

• Ability to demonstrate effective collaboration and co-operation with other areas of the business

• Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels

• Self-motivated team player who is willing to get their “hands dirty” to ensure tasks are completed

• Excellent presentation skills

• Proven track record of forging exceptional working relationships

• Confidence in collecting, analysing and presenting data to drive sales strategy

• Excellent organisational skills with the flexibility to meet changing priorities

• Strong commercial decision-making commission and marketing spend negotiations in particular

• Influential internally and externally

• High current competitor awareness

• Excellent team contributor with high attention to detail

• Proficient in Microsoft applications and an aptitude for sales management systems/databases

• Hold a full, current, UK driving license
